Once the alliance is fixed, the church, the hall, the caterer and the jeweller have to be booked — and in Kerala the greater share of that falls to the groom’s family. Almost all of it still moves on recommendation rather than advertising.

Most of the arranging that follows an alliance falls to the groom’s side, which is why the directory sits alongside the search rather than after it.

What the profiles tell you

Groom profiles carry parish, qualification, employment and family background. Once an alliance is fixed, the same site lists the venues and vendors the wedding itself will need.

How the search works

The matrimonial search needs a free registration; the directory needs no account at all. Families tend to use the first for months and the second for a few intense weeks.
